When is the 2018 Manchester Half Marathon?
The 2018 Manchester Half Marathon will be held on 14th October.
How do I enter the Manchester Half ? How much does it cost?
Entries for the Manchester Half Marathon 2018 are on sale now. Entries will be limited to 15,000, the price is £34.00 & £32.00 for affiliated runners, and will increase in due time. Charity Entries must be secured directly through the charity. Please see our charity listings page to find out which charities have places with us. You can still raise money for charity if you have a general entry.
What is the minimum age to participate in the Manchester Half ?
The Manchester Half Marathon is open to all entrants over the age of 17 on race day.
I can no longer take part in the Manchester Half Marathon, can I receive a refund, substitute my entry to someone else or transfer my entry to the 2018 Manchester Half Marathon?
We appreciate that things can happen which mean you can’t run in the marathon. If you cannot take part this year, don’t despair, because until 15th August you can transfer your entry to next year’s half marathon, where we would be delighted to see you! To do this, please log in to your entry details and select ‘Move Entry’ then select Transfer to Manchester Half Marathon 2018. There will be a £10 fee to do this and this must be completed online.
Please note that transfers cannot be processed by our office and must be done online by the 15th August – transfers are not possible after this date, sorry.
There is also the option to transfer your place to another runner until 15th August. Please log onto your entry form on www.riderhq.com and click on Edit Entry. You will be able to change the details on the entry form for a £10 transfer fee. After the 15th August cut-off date, you cannot transfer your place. NB the transfer prior to 15th August means that you do not have to pay the 2018 entry fee, just the £10 admin fee. A deferred entry means that you have a guaranteed place and you will need to pay the 2018 entry fee.
Unauthorised sale or transfer of your race entry / race number to another person is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification and / or banning of any involved individuals from future events. This is for reasons associated with insurance, medical information, logistics and administration. All entry fees are non-refundable. How can I change personal details on my Manchester Half Marathon entry form?
You can change your personal details by logging onto on your RiderHQ account (www.riderhq.com) and clicking on your Manchester Half Marathon entry form then selecting ‘Edit Entry’.
I registered my intention to qualify for the 2018 England Athletics Age Group Marathon team, how will I found out if I have been selected?
After the race results, have been finalised, all participants who registered their intent to qualify, we send your information over to England Athletics and they will contact you if you have been successful.
I can no longer find my confirmation email, what should I do?
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and one of our customer services team will re-send your confirmation email and get in touch once it has been actioned.
I can’t find my UKA running club on your list?
We receive a yearly update UKA accredited clubs, If you don’t find your club on the drop down list please scroll down to the bottom of the list and select ‘other’. Then in the box state your running club.
Is the 2018 Manchester Half Marathon a qualifier event?
Yes, this race is sanctioned by the UKA which is part of IAAF, and as such it is a qualifier for other events where a half marathon time is the standard.
When do entries close for the Manchester Half Marathon?
Online entries will close on 12th October at 9:00pm or when the race is full. After this time, you can still enter if we have space, by coming to the Race Pack Collection point on Saturday 13th October with £50 in cash or card and proof that you are over 17 years old. Please note if the event reaches capacity late entries will not be available.
Please note all late entrants must collect their race pack from our central Manchester Location. (**Venue will be announced soon)
When will race numbers be sent out?
Race numbers with your name on will be sent out to those runners who have registered before 16th August. Please ensure that your address is up-to-date as we don’t want to post numbers to the wrong address.
Runners who enter after this date but before 12 noon on Wednesday 20th September will have their number posted 1st class but will not have any name printed on it.
Your race number will arrive before 5th October.

I am an overseas runner can I still participate in the Manchester Half Marathon?
Yes, we would love to see you take part in the Manchester Half Marathon.
International runners will need to collect their number from our Customer Services team who will be based at INNSIDE Hotel at First Street in Manchester City Centre (please see below for address details).
Numbers can be collected on Saturday 13th between 10am and 5pm. There will be no race number collection on race day.
Please note: Saturday 13th October is the only collection day, there will be no collection on race day.
The pick-up point will be a central Manchester location and will be announced soon.
Can I choose what’s printed on my race number?
If you enter before 16th August, you can choose the name that will be printed on your race number.
My race number hasn’t arrived, what shall I do?
Please email email@example.com for assistance if your race number hasn’t arrived by 5th October.
