3 NEW COURSE RECORDS SET IN STELLAR ELITE PERFORMANCES
In elite performances that left crowds on the edge of their seats, three new course records have been set at the Manchester Half this morning.
In a thrilling elite competition, Sean Frame (Elite Wheelchair), Lucy Reid (Elite Women’s) and Jack Rowe (Elite Men’s) were all crowned as the first finishers ahead of the mass field of 24,000 who started the challenge in Trafford.
Propelled by fresh and dry conditions, Sean Frame swept up the Men’s Wheelchair first place, smashing the Men’s Wheelchair course record (previously 00:55:25) in a time of 00:48:24. He was followed by Bret Crossley nabbing second place in 00:56:31, and Vratislav Zdrubecky claiming third place in 01:08:24.
Not long later, PUMA athlete Jack Rowe broke his own course record (set at the event last year) by almost 30 seconds, storming across the line in a stellar time of 01:02:12. Men’s second place went to Jacob Allen in a time of 01:02:43, and third went to Alexander LeprĂȘtre in 01:04:14.
PUMA’s Lucy Reid seized first place in the Women’s race, in a stunning performance of 01:09:13 – almost a minute faster than the previous course record of 1:10:02. The battle for second and third place was nothing short of exciting, as Charlotte Dannatt came second in 01:14:24 with Rebecca Murray just behind her in 01:14:42.
