What is your one piece of advice for someone who's half marathon target time is the one you are pacing?
You couldn't have picked a better route to achieve your time, it's flat and fast. Trust your training and don't worry about pace as I'll help do that for you!
Given that ERDINGER Alkoholfrei is your Ritual After Sport, what is your ritual to gear up before starting a sport activity?
I’m a big believer in finding what works for you and sticking to it! For any run where I want to push myself, I eat something light that's easy to digest and have a water with a Vitamin C in it. I then play music too loudly and do some light stretches to convince myself I’m ready to bury myself in the workout!

I love Manchester people and I love giving back to the running community where I started my first ever half marathon event.
What is your one piece of advice for someone who's half marathon target time is the one you are pacing?
If you're looking for sub 1:40 and I will be your hero for 1 hour and 39 minutes. I am one of the best pacers around and I thrive on pacing and my achievement is seeing you guys achieving goals which gives me a buzz.
I will entertain you throughout the race to take your pain away and keep up with me and I will get you your goal time.

Given that ERDINGER Alkoholfrei is your Ritual After Sport, what is your ritual to gear up before starting a sport activity?
My ritual before taking part in a sporting activity from a fuel perspective is porridge. Before I set out on a training run stretching is a must for 5 mins and then it's off I go. If I am racing a mile warm up is a must before I start.

What made you sign up to pace the 2025 Manchester Half?
This will be my third year pacing the Manchester Half, I really enjoy the pacing side of running helping other runners reach their goals and it’s a privilege to pace for such a big event. I’m local, so love to be able to see lots of friends and run buddies on the route either running or supporting. It’s such a great running community in Manchester.
What is your one piece of advice for someone who's half marathon target time is the one you are pacing?
Don’t worry about your time and pace, leave that to us to help and guide you round. Enjoy the day, take in the atmosphere, and smile - the crowd are so supportive. Also stay hydrated and don’t forget your energy nutrition if you need it.

Having a favourite playlist at the ready if I’m running solo, or great running buddies to chat on a group run. Letting someone know my route (even if it’s very local) is also an important safety ‘must-do’ for me.

Since my first one in 2002 (The Gresth North Run), over 50 now.
What made you sign up to pace the 2025 Manchester Half?
I've paced the Full Manchester Marathon 4 times now and really wanted to pace the half which I did for the first time last year and I as expected I loved it and can't wait to do it again and help people achieve their personal goals .
What is your one piece of advice for someone who’s half marathon target time is the one you are pacing?
2 Hours is real milestone and you will have trained hard to get under that time, trust your training and trust yourself! Make sure your internal chatter (in your head) is positive, tell your self you can do it, you will do it and even visual that finish line and how good you will feel when you have done it.
As Henry Ford famously said "whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're probably right".
Think strong!!
Given that ERDINGER Alkoholfrei is your Ritual After Sport, what is your ritual to gear up before starting a sport activity?
I make sure I don't use anything "new" before the big day (especially different energy gel brands), no food less than 2 hours before the race (porridge and a granola bar) and no fluids less than an hour before, a tiny warm up, a gentle stretch then I'm good to go!!

If I was shooting for a PB, I would definitely choose this course, it is fast, flat, with great support and well-organised. I can't wait to pace this again!
Do you adjust your training for a half marathon that you are pacing at versus one that you are taking part individually? If so, how?
I always keep myself marathon and half marathon fit. However, I like to Pace at paces that are very comfortable, so that I can relax on the course and focus on the runners.
If I was taking part individually I probably would step up my training, but my main goal for pacing is to be fit and not injured 🙂
What is your one piece of advice for someone who's half marathon target time is the one you are pacing?
Do some core strength and cross training along the way.
Also, try to do four or five fast parkruns along the way, as running faster will make the desired pace at the half marathon, feel slower!
Given that ERDINGER Alkoholfrei is your Ritual After Sport, what is your ritual to gear up before starting a sport activity?
My ritual for gearing up, is texting my running buddy and friend Alice, to make sure she's setting off at roughly the same time. We live 10K apart so we have to each run 5K to even start running together. Needless to say, this mainly works for longer runs!
Also, I have a banana, grab as one water, my bone conducting headphones and a layer in case of weather!

To try to start behind me, overtake me and either stay with my group or just ahead. And sprint finish - you don't want me in your finisher photo!
