Road Closure Info

The below information refers to our 2022 MCR Half Marathon. Please rest assured that a similar service will be put in place for businesses and residents in 2023.

In addition to the email address that is currently available (and will remain so over the event weekend), a resident & business phone line will also be available if needed Friday 7th October – Sunday 9th October.

Over the weekend the phone line will be live:

  • Saturday 8th October: 8am – 6pm
  • Sunday 9th October (event day): 6am – 4pm

You may need to leave a voicemail message if the line is engaged, a return call will be made back to you as soon as possible.

To help us with your enquiry the information that you should include in your voicemail should be: your name, your telephone number, and a short message regarding your enquiry including a street name(s) and a postcode if possible.

The phone number is: 07593 005 663

The Manchester Half Marathon is set to return on Sunday 9th October as the largest Half Marathon in the region.

After the cancellation of the 2020 event due to Covid restrictions, the Manchester Half Marathon event saw a successful return in October 2021 alongside the Therme Manchester Marathon with a fantastic £7.4 million boost to the local economy. The event was attended by 40,000 persons competing over the two events in one day, who came to achieve personal goals and also to fulfil charity fundraising for causes close to their hearts. The event raised an amazing £5 million for multiple local and national charities, and donated thousands more to local clubs, groups and organisations who volunteered at it.

Roads closures will be in effect along and immediately around the Half Marathon route, and those roads in the surrounding area that are open will be very busy so please plan extra times for any journeys you need to take. Many bus services will also be diverted due to these closures.

We recommend using Metrolink to travel to and from the Event as there are several stops close to the athlete village, start line and finish line in Trafford. For further details, please visit the TGFM WEBSITE.
