Manchester Half Update – February 2021
The 2021 Manchester Half is due to return later this year, taking place on Sunday 10th October. We’re excited to be back putting on incredible events, and helping runners achieve their goal, it’s been far too long.
To ensure that we offer the best possible event experience within any likely government guidelines we have taken the decision to delay opening further entries into the 2021 Manchester Half for now. We already have a number of participants registered who were due to run in 2020, and we hope to welcome more runners to join them in due course. Our team are working hard to develop plans for various likely scenarios, and what impact that would have on the arrangements at every stage of your challenge.
In addition the 2021 Manchester Marathon will now be taking place on the same day as the Half, which will allow us to invest in improved infrastructure and experiences for participants at both events. Due to the lengthier training time required for a marathon distance a small number of additional public places for that event became available earlier this year, but have now been paused.
By early May we hope to be in a position to announce further arrangements on how as many people as possible can participate in the 2021 Manchester Half, but until then we appreciate the patience of all our runners and supporters. We know we are not alone in having to be cautious regarding event planning in the current climate, but appreciate it can be frustrating for people nevertheless. Without our runners there would be no Manchester Half, so we are keen to keep you updated as things develop. If you’d like to receive further updates via email when more information is available please leave your details on this page.
Best wishes,
Manchester Half Team
