When do entries close?
Online entries will close on 12th October at 9:00pm or when the event is full. After this time, if the event has not sold out you can register by coming to the Race Pack Collection point on Saturday 13th October with £50 in cash or card and proof that you are over 17 years old. Please note if the event reaches capacity late entries will not be available.
Is there a minimum age limit?
Yes, participants need to be aged 17 by the 14th October 2018.
How can I volunteer for this event?

I need to cancel my booking, can I get a refund?
All entry fees are non-refundable. Full details of the Manchester Half Marathon withdrawal policy can be downloaded here. You have until 15th August 2018 to transfer your entry to next year or to another runner. Please log into your entry form on www.riderhq.com and select ‘Edit entry’. Transfers will cost £10 and deferred entry means that you have a guaranteed place but you will need to pay the new entry fee.
Is this race a qualifier event?
Yes, this race is sanctioned by the UKA which is part of IAAF, and it is a qualifier for other events where a half marathon time is the standard.
I am an overseas runner, can I still participate in this race?
Yes, all international runners will need to collect their numbers between 10am to 5pm on Saturday 13th October at the INNSIDE Hotel, First Street, Manchester City Centre, M15 4RP. There will be no race number collection on race day.
Where can I view a copy of the entry Terms and Conditions?
When will race packs be sent out?
Your race number will arrive before 5th October.
How do I change my personal details?
You can change your personal details by logging onto on your RiderHQ account (www.riderhq.com) and clicking on your Manchester Half Marathon entry form then selecting ‘Edit Entry’.
What do I do if my race pack hasn’t arrived/ I have an international address?
If you haven’t received your race number by 5th October, please contact our Customer Service team via email- firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I choose what’s printed on my race number?
If you enter before 16th August, you can choose the name that will be printed on your race number.
What time does the Manchester Half Marathon start?
The race will start at 09:00am on Sunday 14th October 2018. Please make sure you arrive at the Athlete’s Village at Emirates Old Trafford in plenty of time to drop off your baggage and make your way to the start line.
Start address: Bridgewater Way, Stretford, Manchester M16.
Finish address: Emirates Old Trafford, Talbot Rd, Stretford, Old Trafford M16 0PX.
I’ve forgotten my number on race day, what do I do?
If you do not have a number, you will not be able to race. If you have misplaced it before race day, please go the INNSIDE Hotel, First Street, Manchester City Centre, M15 4RP on Saturday 14th between 10am and 5pm and we shall give you a replacement – you will be charged £10, payable in cash or by card.
Will there be a secure area to store a bag?
Yes, there will be a baggage area to store your kit. This will be located in the Athletes Village at Emirates Old Trafford.
Is there a cut off time for this event?
Yes, the cut off time for all competitors is a completion time of 3 hours from the time you cross the start line. Any runners slower than a 3 hour pace will not receive an official finisher’s time and we advise you to run on the pavements. This is to minimise the impact on the local residents & businesses, as roads will begin to re-open.
Can I listen to music during the race?
We strongly discourage the use of any equipment that acts as an impediment to hearing or concentration when competing. This includes, but is not limited to, mobile telephones, personal stereos and MP3 players. Xtra Mile cannot be responsible for accidents resulting from taking part with such equipment.
Where can I meet up with my friends and family after the race?
There will be a meet up point where you will be able to meet your friends and family it will be located is on Talbot Road outside Kellogg’s. Each meeting point will be marked with letters of the alphabet, so you can arrange to meet at a pre-arranged letter.
Where is the event village?
The Event Village is located at: Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford, Manchester M32 0TH
The Customer Service Point and Sponsors activation will all be in the Event Village.
What nutrition will be available on the course?
There will be pre-race samples of AMINO Energy at the Optimum Nutrition stand in the athletes village. There will also be water stations at miles 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11 and Nutramino Carbo Energy Gels will be available on course. Please note, these are not currently available to purchase, and therefore we advise that if you are concerned that not testing gels before an event may impact on your performance, then please bring your preferred gel. There will also be Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey protein shakes to support your recovery post-race.
Will there be pacers at the event?
Yes, there will be a wide range of pacers available on Race Day – specific pacer times will be available closer to race day.
Where are the toilets located?
Athletes village, start area, and a small number along the route where the water stations are located.
My time is incorrect, how do I fix it?

Yes, to do this, log back in to your entry form at www.riderhq.com, click on your Manchester Half Marathon entry form and select ‘Edit my entry’, then answer ‘YES’ to the question: ‘Would you like to personalise your medal with an iTab’.
